I worked at a facility on Easter morning amid a very pivotal time globally concerning the COVID-19 outbreaks.
On Easter, I look forward to attending church. As an essential worker, while not able to attend worship service on Easter Sunday, I wanted to be a helping hand, so I decided to pick up a shift.
At work, I was amazed at how the patients were appreciative, thankful, and couldn’t believe I would choose such a day to come in. They blessed me, wanted to hug me, but to be safe, the patients instead hugged themselves and we smiled at each other. I really knew my being there on Easter Sunday was a light to the facility and had brightened the day of the patients.
